What we’re looking for: First + foremost: A strong executor and leader who can own high-level strategy while guiding a team, who is excited about tackling the ever-evolving SEO landscape 5+ years of professional SEO experience, with a strong focus on local SEO and performance-driven strategy Experience developing and executing SEO strategies for small businesses, with home service/trades experience (roofing, HVAC, contractors, etc.) being a major bonus Proven experience leading teams in an agency or fast-paced environment, including coaching, accountability, and performance management Abilitiyu to own results for all Hook clients being managed by our SEO team Ability to identify performance issues and develop strategic pivots to improve rankings, traffic, and lead generation A strategic thinker who can navigate the constantly evolving SEO landscape and help Hook stay ahead of the curve Experience with tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and other SEO platforms Strong communication skills with the ability to present strategy clearly to internal teams and leadership A four-year degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Statistics, or similar, is highly preferred Winning energy + the ability to have fun under pressure Deep alignment with our core values and a commitment to embodying them in your work: SCRAPPY : We’re always looking for more efficient ways to do things. What you’ll be doing: Lead the Hook SEO team, including conducting one-on-ones, performance reviews, coaching, motivation, and other LMA aspects Work closely with the Director of Strategy to ensure Hook remains on the forefront of SEO and AEO Monitor changes within the SEO landscape and proactively adapt strategies to keep client campaigns competitive Pioneer Hook’s SEO service offerings in an increasingly AI-driven and rapidly evolving search environment Provide guidance and support to SEO Strategists and Jr. Technicians Design and implement training programs for SEO strategists Equip SEO team leaders to manage and coach their nearshore team members Review technical work completed by junior team members and contractors to ensure quality and performance standards Serve as the go-to expert for complex SEO questions from Account Managers Occasionally join client calls to explain SEO strategies and performance, as needed Identify opportunities to improve internal SEO processes, systems, and workflows and own the process of keeping SOP’s up to date Help the team identify creative growth opportunities for client campaigns and Hook’s service offerings Keep the team informed on industry changes, algorithm updates, and emerging SEO trends This is a position at a high-performing, fast-paced digital marketing agency that values team culture and employee well-being. We believe in working hard and taking full ownership of our roles, and the ideal candidate for this position will feel strongly about those things as well. We’re in the office 3 days a week and have the option to work remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays, however new hires are required to be in the office 5 days a week for the first month to ensure adequate support and a seamless integration.
