Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking Special Education School Aides (Behavior Technicians and Special Education Aides) to support the 25/26 school year. The these roles work to facilitate educational and behavioral services with children and adults with special needs. They collaborate with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives. There are openings for both during the school day and during the afterschool program
Behavior Technicians require at at least 6 months of experience in a similar role or prior experience working with students with autism in a school setting.
The Special Education Aide role is an entry-level role; however, prior experience caring for children is highly desired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows the instructions of the BCBA/program supervisor/teacher
Provides behavior assistance/interventions to assigned clients
Performs ABA related teaching strategies
Provides behavior support services
Provides crisis intervention
Review and Implement behavior intervention plans
Review and implement behavioral goals found within IEPs
Documents session per policies and procedures
Collects data accurately and efficiently
Strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements
Assist students in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene.
Implement behavior management techniques in accordance with the directions given by the supervising teacher; including reinforcing appropriate behaviors in accordance with the teachers plan and supervising the student during these behavior management techniques
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
General Comments
-Schedule: Mon-Fri
-Times: Bell schedules vary, but fall between 7am and 4 pm. After school assignments are also available.
-Pay: $21-$25/hour
-Weekly Pay
-Location: Anaheim and Westminster focused, but positions are open in other OC cities as well.
