King’s Academy, located in the thriving Houston suburb of Missouri City, is rapidly growing its RiSE program in keeping with our 45-year history of excellent small class educational success with children of all ages. Our RiSE program for special needs children has opened the doors for additional well-qualified and caring professionals.
We are seeking a Special Needs Program Director to provide leadership, coordination, and direct instructional support for our RiSE Program (Remediation, Intervention, Support, and Enrichment). The Director will ensure that students with mild to moderate learning differences receive individualized, high-quality, Christ-centered educational support in alignment with the school’s mission and each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Scope of Responsibilities Include:
· Developing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for all RiSE students.
· Conducting or coordinating educational assessments to determine student eligibility and appropriate placement within the RiSE Program.
· Providing direct instruction to RiSE students through push-in and pull-out support models as determined by individual student needs.
· Collaborating closely with classroom teachers to ensure consistent implementation of IEP accommodations and modifications.
· Training and supporting classroom teachers in differentiated instruction strategies for students with learning differences.
· Maintaining accurate, confidential documentation of student progress toward IEP goals.
· Communicating proactively and regularly with families of RiSE students regarding their child’s progress, goals, and program participation.
· Program development and administration
· Compliance with King’s Academy’s policies, procedures, certification requirements and other responsibilities implied in a Director level position.
Candidate Profile Includes:
· Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience working with students with learning differences, including autism spectrum disorder
· Demonstrated knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring.
· Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and related learning difference.
· Committed Christian faith and Christ-centered behavior.
· Possess genuine warmth, patience, and care for students with diverse learning needs.
