The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition invite applications for a non-tenure eligible clinical faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Together with outstanding colleagues in Pediatric Surgery, the Division serves as the top-ranked Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Surgery program in Virginia. With specific interests in inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric liver transplantation, eosinophilic GI disorders, disorders of gut-brain interaction, aerodigestive disorders, intestinal rehabilitation, nutrition, and global health, 8 faculty provide a full array of pediatric gastroenterology subspecialty care to the Commonwealth and beyond. There are 7,000 outpatient visits and 1,800 procedures annually including capsule endoscopy, pH/MII, esophageal dilation, and transnasal endoscopy. The Division's clinical mission is supported by 3 nurse practitioners, 2 psychologists, 3 dietitians, 5 nurse care coordinators, physical and occupational therapy, and 2 social workers. The Division maintains a vibrant ACGME-accredited fellowship program, with three fellows in training (one per year). The Pediatric GI Division enjoys highly collaborative relationships with colleagues in Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Radiology, Transplant Surgery (both at UVA and the University of Pittsburgh), and adult Gastroenterology who assist with the full spectrum of interventional gastrointestinal procedures. The Division's research portfolio is focused on global health and includes NIH funding. Quality improvement efforts span inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric liver transplant, and mental health in children with chronic illnesses.
