Reporting to the Director, Global Security Systems, this role leads the architecture, engineering, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise physical security platforms within a complex, networked environment. The Manager acts as the primary technical lead responsible for executing the global security systems strategy as defined by the Director, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise technology and security standards.

This position serves as a key advisor to the Director on system architecture, integration, and performance, translating Director-defined strategy into technical roadmaps and implementation plans. The role drives the technical execution of access control, video management systems (VMS), intrusion detection, PSIM/GSOC platforms, and GIS-enabled tools, with an emphasis on interoperability, high availability, and secure system design.

The Manager partners closely with IT, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Corporate Security, Facilities, and vendors to deliver integrated, enterprise-grade solutions, and acts as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and delivery challenges, escalating strategic or enterprise-impacting matters to the Director.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve system architectures for physical security platforms, including high availability, redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery.
  • Define integration patterns across systems using APIs, event-driven workflows, and middleware.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise infrastructure, including IP addressing, network segmentation, firewall policies, and secure communications.
  • Drive standardization of system configurations, deployment models, and technical frameworks.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of security technology initiatives, including requirements, solution design, engineering, deployment, testing, and operational handoff.
  • Translate strategic direction into executable technical plans, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and business objectives.
  • Own technical scope and delivery outcomes within Director-defined priorities and constraints, ensuring solutions meet performance, scalability, and reliability expectations.
  • Oversee system commissioning, validation, and optimization.
  • Support RFPs with detailed technical requirements and solution evaluations.
  • Administer and optimize enterprise platforms (access control, VMS/CCTV, intrusion detection, PSIM, visitor management).
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and system tuning across distributed environments.
  • Implement structured patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management aligned with change control processes.
  • Drive system uptime and performance through monitoring, automation, and proactive maintenance.
  • Enhance GSOC capabilities through integrations, workflow automation, and real-time data visibility.
  • Support platform expansion, system upgrades, and performance improvements.
  • Enable operational efficiency through improved data flow, dashboards, and system interoperability.
  • Ensure systems are deployed and maintained in accordance with security standards, including access controls, encryption, and secure configurations.
  • Partner on vulnerability remediation and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate with integrators, contractors, and internal teams to deliver consistent, high-quality technical solutions.
  • Oversee vendor execution against defined technical standards and performance expectations.
  • Support a "Sony First" approach, leveraging internal capabilities and strategic partnerships.
  • Maintain system architecture diagrams, configurations, SOPs, and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to standards, best practices, and governance processes.
  • Directly supervises a small technical staff (e.g., Service Technician, Systems Analyst) and oversees vendor/contractor delivery for assigned projects.
  • Escalates performance, hiring, and disciplinary decisions to the Director as required.
  • Escalates enterprise-impacting technical decisions, vendor performance issues, and scope changes exceeding approved thresholds to the Director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience supporting and engineering enterprise security or infrastructure systems.
  • Experience delivering integrated, large-scale technology solutions in complex environments.
  • Hands-on expertise implementing and supporting access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and GSOC/PSIM platforms (e.g., Lenel OnGuard, Genetec, Milestone, Bosch, C•CURE).
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), system architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with system integrations, APIs, and data exchange between platforms.
  • Familiarity with server environments, virtualization, and storage concepts.
  • Working knowledge of secure system design and segmentation principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as Security+, CCNA, or similar are a plus.
  • Experience with GIS platforms (ArcGIS/Esri) preferred.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for Work to support operational workflows and documentation (preferred).
  • Exposure to automation, scripting, or workflow optimization tools.
  • Manages project-level M&R and CapEx expenditures within Director-approved budgets.
  • May authorize purchases only within delegated approval thresholds.
  • Does not hold enterprise budget authority or final financial approval rights.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $108,000 - $135,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
