The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics invites applications for the position of Division Director of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. Preference is given to those with established research programs and clinical excellence, particularly as the Division manages multiple NIH R01 grants and benefits from philanthropic support. The Division Director will oversee eight faculty members specializing in areas such as inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric liver transplantation, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, disorders of gut-brain interaction, nutrition, quality improvement, and medical education. UVA Health Children's offers comprehensive pediatric gastroenterology subspecialty care, including inpatient services, over 7,000 outpatient visits, and 1,500 procedures annually for patients throughout Virginia and beyond. The Division's clinical mission is supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes three nurse practitioners, two psychologists, two dietitians, five nurse care coordinators, physical and occupational therapists, and two social workers. Quality improvement initiatives focus on inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric liver transplantation, and mental health in children with chronic illnesses.
