Job Title: Computer Operators
Employment Type: Contract
Work Hours: 40 hrs./week
Work site: 100% Onsite
Location: 50 Wolf Road, Albany NY 12232
Closing: 04/17/2026.

Minimum Qualification:

• High School Diploma or Higher.

Job Duties/Responsibilities include all of the following:

• Analyze and review incoming traffic count data for completeness and accuracy.
• Assess validity of results based on historical and nearby traffic data patterns.
• Use the Traffic Monitoring Bureau's Drakewell software in the review of traffic count data.
• Use software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Maps/Earth, GIS, WinZip.
• Make independent decisions about the quality of data received from traffic count contractors.
• Work in a team environment where effective communication is critical.
• Use Email and Windows Explorer for continual file management.
• Keep meticulous records, both written and computer based.
• Prepare letters/tables for communications with traffic count contractors regarding Acceptance/Rejection of traffic data.
• Deal with challenges presented by traffic count contractors over rejected traffic data leading to reduced payment.
• Perform database management, data entry, and other activities as trained and assigned.

Preferred Skills:

• Attention to patterns, openness to asking questions, situational/subjective problem-solving.
• Microsoft Excel, File Explorer, and Filezilla or any other FTP.
• GIS, Public Policy/ Planning, Government.

Misc. Information:

• Work Shift Hours: Typically, Monday through Friday, 8.0-hour day with a ½-hour lunch; Shift will be discussed during interview.
• Work Location: Free parking available on-site; accessible by public transportation.
• Interview will be conducted in person at the NYSDOT facility
• Training: Training will be provided.
