As an Associate Director, R&D Project Management at CSL Behring, you will lead complex pharmaceutical research and development programs from early-stage discovery through late-stage development and regulatory submission. Working within the Project Management & Coordination department, you will oversee cross-functional project teams spanning clinical, nonclinical, regulatory, CMC, quality, and commercial to deliver innovative therapies for patients with serious and rare conditions. You will be accountable for developing and maintaining integrated project plans, defining scope, timelines, budgets, and risks, and ensuring alignment with CSL’s R&D portfolio strategy and governance processes. Partnering closely with scientific and clinical leaders, you will translate scientific goals into executable project roadmaps, track progress against key milestones, and proactively identify and resolve critical issues that could impact program delivery. You will drive effective decision-making by preparing high-quality presentations and scenario analyses for senior leadership and steering committees, providing clear options, trade-offs, and data-driven recommendations. In this role, you will implement and champion best practices in project and portfolio management, including stage-gate methodologies, resource planning, risk and issue management, and standard reporting. You will mentor and guide project managers and coordinators, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture that reflects CSL’s values of scientific excellence, integrity, and patient-focused innovation. You will collaborate across global sites and functions, ensuring transparent communication, stakeholder alignment, and compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory expectations. The Associate Director will contribute to continuous improvement of R&D processes, tools, and metrics, leveraging data and lessons learned to enhance predictability, efficiency, and quality in project execution.
